Speaker Information

Linda Dano is an accomplished actress, entrepreneur, author, former talk show host, fashion advisor and designer. For 17 years, Dano played the character of Felicia Gallant on "Another World" and won the 1993 "Outstanding Lead Actress" Emmy Award for her exceptional performance. She also received three additional Emmy nominations, as well as numerous Soap Opera Digest and MVP Awards. The ABC network picked Dano up in June 1999 to reprise the role of Gretel "Rae" Cummings, and shortly after, she appeared on all four of ABC daytime soaps, including "One Life to Live," "General Hospital," "All My Children" and "Port Charles." Her character's home-base remains on "One Life to Live."

Off the set, Dano has co-authored the books, Looking Great...It Doesn't Have To Hurt, released in 1997, and Living Great, released in 1998. Many fans may also remember her from the show "Attitudes," which she co-hosted for six years on the Lifetime Television Network. She has also appeared on many national talk shows, including "The Rosie O'Donnell Show" and "The View."

Dano's love for fashion and style began at The University of California at Long Beach, where she majored in design. On the QVC network, she has also created her own line of fashion accessories which are for the cost-conscious buyer. Strictly Personal, the New York-based fashion consulting business, creates complete wardrobes to match a client's taste and personality; Dano has been President and CEO for almost two decades.

Dano also actively contributes her time to various organizations. Personally affected by her father's long struggle with Alzheimer's Disease, she serves as Honorary Chairperson of the National Alzheimer's Association, which bestowed the "Charles Mann Care Giving Award" to Dano and her mother. Dano has also served as the Mother's Day Campaign Spokesperson for the National Osteoporosis Foundation, and serves as the co-host of QVC's "FFANY Shoes on Sale," a special that raises millions for breast cancer awareness and research.

Most recently, following the deaths of her husband and mother, Dano was diagnosed with depression. Now, the Emmy-winning actress works on recovery with the help of her doctor and the help of a support program. She is now embarking on an awareness campaign to help others recognize and understand depression.
