Speaker Information
For 15 years, Karyn has been speaking to audiences about the application of humor in a work setting. More recently, she has combined her work with the Six Advisors Success System; a marriage of the formal science of axiology and the success principles defined by Og Mandino in his book, The Greatest Salesman in the World, in order to effect real change in the arenas of business and personal growth.
Karyn is President and Founder of HumorX. Through her years of research and experience, she's determined that humor and its powerful consequences (physiological, psychological, social and spiritual) offer benefits in the work place that can be the catalyst for change that will move groups forward and allow individuals to live more positive, productive and happier lives. Karyn is serious about humor and business growth!
Karyn recently relocated to sunny, Southern California. Leaving behind the Show-Me State for sunshine and beaches, she is thrilled to call San Diego her home. Her hobbies include making beds, folding laundry, washing dishes, vacuuming, and scrubbing toilets. (Would you like to buy a bridge?)
Karyn shares insights from the emerging field of neuromarketing; she explores the many uses of humor in the workplace; and she gives audiences practical strategies for surviving and thriving by harnessing their sense of humor. "Neuroscientists are now proving what the advertising guys have intuited all along: 'Logic tells, emotion sells'—and humor is the fastest route to the emotions," she observes. Researchers like Karyn Buxman are delving into the links between humor and human nature, and her discoveries can give organizations a competitive edge.
Her keynotes are not just more "uplifting motivational speeches based on platitudes." Rather, her three keynotes are all based on the latest neurological and psychological findings, and on her own original research. Karyn's keynotes function on two levels:
(1) On the surface, they are motivational and educational keynotes, but
(2) Underneath, their structure has been designed to utilize humor as a way to bypass people's logic circuits and psychological barriers, thereby making your audience open to accepting the practical and helpful information that Karyn has to impart.
