Speaker Information

An internationally sought-after expert and speaker with "a brand new way to deliver a message," Emory Austin's extraordinary gifts as a storyteller and strategist open a path for connecting life lessons to practical insights. Unforgettable, growth-focused, and delightfully humorous, her high-impact presentations combine targeted storytelling with humor, warmth, and a captivating sincerity.

A Phi Beta Kappa graduate of Wake Forest University with a major in writing and psychology, Austin is fascinated by how people think; by why they do what they do and neglect what they neglect; by the patterns they develop in the process; and by all the individual ways they deal with opportunities for leadership, professional and personal change, their customer base, and relationships of all types. Focused on creating professional cultures that produce the solutions required for success in today's chameleon-like climate, Austin uses her experience with leading international minds as a driving force in her acute analysis of ways to build balance between cold technology and warmer people skills.

Recognized as one of only a handful of great women keynoters, Austin was chosen in 1999 as the recipient of the National Speakers Association's highest honor, the "Council of Peers Award for Excellence, Speaker Hall of Fame," for her expertise, style, professionalism, reputation, and overwhelming audience response. She was one of only five professional speakers selected for this distinguished commendation in 1999, and the sole woman honoree.

The three-year host of an issue-based television talk show, Austin has been featured in bestselling Simon & Schuster anthologies by request of the publisher. She is a contributing author in Chocolate for a Woman's Soul, a collection of short stories by prominent women which features Austin's own personal story of her battle against breast cancer. Through the double mastectomy, chemotherapy, and radiation treatments which followed, Austin discovered a way to combat the terrifying, paralyzing effects of the ordeal with humor, creativity, and elegance, impelling herself not just to survive, but to use the cancer experience to overcome every hurdle that life can offer, both professionally and personally.

One of America's star keynote speakers, Austin is sparklingly unforgettable: a rare combination of warmth, solid substance, intelligence, and humor this is captivating. Her refreshing style, candor, uncommon perspectives and commanding platform presence make her an outstanding choice for memorable and entertaining keynotes, conference openers and closers, and luncheon events. With just the right mix of message and laughter, audiences not only love her as a speaker, both male and female attendees will wish they had her as a best friend!
