The Power of Harmony!
The Ultimate Team-Building Event

Tremendous Fun + Your Motivational Content
What better way to give your group — no matter what the size or composition — an experiential lesson in harmony and teamwork than to have them learn a wonderful new skill together? A skill that they will then use to interact in ways that will enhance the functioning of the entire organization! And at the same time, David will integrate your specific motivational content into the presentation, ending (if desired) with a customized song about your organization.

Three Minutes to Harmonica!
As always, David gives each participant a brand new harmonica and guarantees that he will have the entire group playing any style of music within three minutes.

Playing in Harmony, Working in Harmony
Playing music together is a great metaphor for mission alignment. The same skills — active listening, appreciation of diversity, and a sense of shared commitment to a common goal — come into play when doing either successfully!

The Creative Manager and the Creative Team

In this workshop, the group breaks up into units of six (table seating rather than theatre seating will facilitate this), and David introduces — musically — a variety of creativity enhancing strategies and techniques. Some of these are based on traditional models (such as the Osborn-Parnes Creative Problem Solving methodology). Others are influenced by more recent work in the field (such as Gardner's "Types of Intelligence," Torrance and Garfield's "Vision" work, Kao's concept of "Jamming," and the Swedish studies on the "Creative Climate"). David is happy to study any other creative methodology of your choice, and integrate it into the program!

Naturally, these strategies and techniques aren't talked about — they're experientially demonstrated by the participants for themselves, using the harmonica to play a wide variety of music, from Beethoven to Rock and Roll! And that most creative form of American music — Blues Improvisation —is heavily featured. Thus techniques for enhancing creativity and team process are built in: painlessly! Often, each group will perform, on stage, for the others (with David's help, as shown)...

Speaker Information

David Harp is the author of two dozen "how to" books, on subjects ranging from music to meditation. He's great at making complex subjects seem simple!

He's also an internationally known teacher of cognitive-behavioral science (currently the most effective form of psychology for behavioral change in organizations or individuals), and travels the world teaching groups of every kind to work more co-operatively and more effectively, with greater creativity and less stress.

But you'll never catch David lecturing audiences about things like "staying on track during a crisis by re-routing fear impulses from the limbic system to the orbitofrontal cortex, blah blah etc." In fact, he won't lecture at all as he teaches your group how to apply the most valuable tools of cognitive psychology to their own specific life and workplace issues.

Organizational psychology plus harmonica equals great keynotes or workshops! Each participant gets a harmonica, and learns to play any style of music, blues to Beethoven-within three minutes- Guaranteed! Then David leads the group on an amazing musical journey of team-building, self-discovery, creativity, and FUN! Everyone plays in harmony!
